About Leap Years

A leap year occurs every 4 years (with exceptions for years divisible by 100, unless also divisible by 400). Leap years add one extra day (February 29) to the calendar, which this calculator accounts for automatically when computing date differences and additions.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate the number of days between two dates?
Enter both dates into the calculator and it will automatically compute the exact number of days, weeks, months, and years between them, accounting for varying month lengths and leap years.
Does the calculator count business days?
The calculator shows calendar days by default. Business days exclude weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and can be calculated separately for work-related planning.
Are leap years accounted for?
Yes, the calculator fully accounts for leap years. February has 29 days in leap years, and the calculations adjust accordingly for accurate results.
Can I add or subtract days from a date?
Yes, you can enter a starting date and add or subtract any number of days to find the resulting date. This is useful for deadline planning and scheduling.
How are months calculated when they have different lengths?
The calculator uses calendar months, so moving from January 31 forward one month goes to February 28 (or 29 in a leap year). It handles all edge cases with varying month lengths.
